Understanding Your Dandruff
Dandruff is caused by an imbalanced scalp microbiome, often from an overgrowth of malassezia yeast. This yeast feeds on sebum—natural oil from glands beneath the skin that also work with sweat glands. While sebum moisturizes the scalp, excess production mixes with sweat, dead skin, and debris, creating buildup that feeds malassezia. This imbalance (dysbiosis) causes oily skin cells to shed as visible flakes—dandruff.

So I was surprised by this! I bought the serum which came with a bottle of the intensive shampoo and scalp brushes.
